It was time for Ganpati to go and an emotional time for us.
Dhruv asks me if we could have him forever. Even I wasn’t so ready to say Good Bye to him. As usual, HE has a dialogue with me and teaches me a very important lesson of my life of ͚’Letting Go͛’.
So ‘Letting Go’ has never been easy for me. When things are good I wish they stay forever when things are not so good hope for them to stay forever.
In life nothing is permanent, everything, every moment is temporary. Even our cells, our body is dying every moment and taking birth in that moment. In such a temporary world, we seek permanence. What we hold so dear in our hearts and minds that thing doesn’t even belong to us. The only thing that belongs to us and is in our hands, is how we respond and behave in a particular moment. The only choice we have is to be conscious of what we want from that moment.
Moments are being created at all time and we keep them alive in our thoughts. We wish to create similar situations and memories but holding on and expecting similar moments to recreate brings frustrations, agitation, anxiety etc. in us.
It is very natural for us to expect but is it good for us?
Expectations and letting go are two sides of the same coin. Even Though we can’t even control what is happening in our minds and our emotions we do we expect to control what is happening outside of us.
We cannot control the dying and birthing of our cells but we can definitely take charge of the quality of our cells and life. We cannot control what is happening in other peoples minds and emotions but we can definitely take charge of how we feel and behave in certain situations.
When certain things or people bother me and it takes a toll on me, I take a break from all of it. I take time to understand what possibly could have triggered certain emotions and behavior for me to behave/react in a manner which is not so constructive. In retrospect sometimes it is my conditioning, my rigidity to not see the other side of the issue, their point of views, my stubbornness, or something related to what I experienced in my childhood.
Letting go of such emotions and behavior does help me achieve a peaceful state of mind. It also helps me create better moments in my life.
We bowed down to HIM and let him go.
To be frank, HE is still with us 🙂 He came back to us in the form of a plant. HE is TREEGANESHA
We may not always get what WE are expecting however if we open our minds and hearts we will realize we have much more than what have been asking for and when we let go, we create space for other things to come in our lives.
My question to you is ‘What have you not been able to Let go and what would you like to welcome in your life?’
I hold you all dear and pray that your transition is easy-peasy 🙂
