Last year, I had this fantastic opportunity to be with a group of exuberant people of different places of the world at CapoeirAsia.
Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art, and the way it is played has always intrigued me.
It is high intensity and full of energy, and so was this place with all those people around me. Now I have always believed I am a person who likes every thing slow; who moves slowly, does things in at a measured pace.
CapoeirAsia had put me off my balance, and I started to question my visit.
Reflecting on what was bothering me made me realize that over a period of time I had put myself into a box.
A Therapist Box.
I started expecting myself to behave in a particular manner because that is how a therapist is supposed to be. I had been projecting an image on to myself that I had created in my head.
That is not true me!
The true me is very inquisitive, full of energy, experimentative and high on life. Music, dance, art, people excite me as does high-intensity stuff. I am now exploring my options to get back to the real me.
Have you put yourself in a box? Are you being true to your nature or projecting an image you’ve created for who you think you should be?
Love the way you express yourself . straight from the heart . Totally agree what you say as I feel most of us put ourselves in a box . Need to come out of it and be true to our nature . Thanks for reminding and please keep reminding us time to time and keep up the good work .
Thank you for your encouraging words Debasish 🙂
This is so true.. sometimes we get so busy in playing various roles n behaving as we r expected to be that we forget our true self. Rather we don’t even know who we really will be if not a ” labelled box”. Thank you for reminding us to be our own self 🙂
So what is the first step we can take towards our true nature Khushboo?
